a unique place for learning and community
Regent Road Elementary School was designed in response to the growing need for elementary and kindergarten spaces in the District. The school accommodates 655 elementary students and 80 kindergarten students. The site constraints, which included sloped areas, created a unique opportunity to provide outdoor spaces for the children with exterior sloped learning spaces, natural landscaped areas, and multilevel play areas. The building design became a mix of 1 and 3 story components with a much larger than normal gymnasium incorporated. Additional funding was provided by the Ministry of Education to allow for NLC enhancements such as the gymnasium, allowing after-hours activities with the Public, as well as additional collaboration spaces, an expanded entry, and enhanced storage spaces for NLC use.
