our services are unique to bring your vision to life

We have been around a while, so we see challenges differently.

sustainability

As architects, we have a unique role and responsibility in making the built environment more sustainable. Sustainability starts with collaboration and education and we work with clients and consultants early in the design stage to explore and discuss green strategies that suit site, building, and budget constraints.

We have certified LEED and Passive House professionals on staff that are ready to ‘talk green’ to help make you and your project the next environmental ambassadors.

interior design

Station One is unique in that it offers architecture, landscape architecture, and interior design services, ensuring all design aspects of the project are consistent and well coordinated. At any stage of design, our clients quickly see the building visualized with all design components in place. These in-house services greatly benefit both interior planning aspects, as well as site design on the project.

21st century learning

Education is changing to meet the needs of a 21st century workforce, and Station One is at the forefront of educational facility design. Schools today are more collaborative and open environments with a curriculum geared towards project based learning and real world working conditions.

stakeholders consultation

Station One prides itself in delivering custom consultation sessions, including charrettes, school workshops, and staff/student design sessions. Each session is tailored to the needs of the groups it serves. Information from these sessions can then be developed into detailed drawings for posting on the client’s website.

building information modeling (bim)

We use BIM software for both landscape and building design. Site planning includes accurate 3D modeling of the topography and proposed buildings and roads leading to an accurate and realistic portrayal of the development. The entire building is virtually constructed in 3 dimensions which allows detailed coordination and minimizes errors on site.

crime prevention through environmental design (cpted)

CPTED is a powerful methodology where the proper design and effective use of the built environment can lead to a great reduction of targeted crime and fear of crime, and thereby improve the quality of life. CPTED strategies include: Natural Surveillance, Natural Access Control, Territoriality and Maintenance & Management.

innovative contract admin

With construction crews advancing on site quickly, Station One utilizes the latest technology to document your projects in real time. From tablets to virtual plan rooms, our contract administrative field reviewers always have the latest drawings at hand on site to ensure the latest details are being followed. While a field review is being conducted, our Station One team capture both still and 360 degree photos which are later incorporated into our final field review reports.

project visualization

From the moment the firm starts design, a project can be visualized in 3-D real-life views and video rendering, ensuring the client team and stakeholders can fully understand the building they will occupy. This provides a simple way for those who may not be well versed in reading plans to clearly understand the building and offer constructive input. As the project progresses, we can produce more detailed 3-D renderings at advanced working drawing stages that are nearly identical to the contract documents, ensuring that the visualization is as close as possible to the design on site.

aerial drone documentation

Station One has four licensed and insured drone pilots in-house along with high-performance drone equipment to fully document the project site during the design phase and document construction progress with aerial imagery throughout construction.

virtual reality

We are now happy to offer virtual reality shots with our VR software and Oculus goggles. This software allows client team members to experience real-life view-points throughout the building. This allows any user to immerse themselves in a typical suite or common area and get a true sense of the size, scale and experience of the space.

film production

Lights! Camera! Action! In collaboration with all of SOA’s unique services, each piece has its own special purpose for the grand finale. SOA uses Hollywood’s latest production tools to create, stitch, and compose rich film and orchestra music in a final feature film. These films are showcased at owner’s meetings, collaboration workshops and through social press releases. By captivating the audience, the project truly comes to life for all to see and understand.
