Chris’ attention to detail with common-sense solutions provides a solid balance at Station One, maintaining confirmation of design intent to built form and quality control of projects. He loves the variety of challenges in his role, whether reviewing progress of work and materials on the project site, or in the office reviewing shop drawings, coordinating design changes or communicating with contractors regarding potential changes. Over the years he has gained experience with schools, multi-family, care facilities, churches, office buildings, warehouses, building envelope and tenant improvements.

His love for the outdoors, travel and woodworking are a great fit in the Fraser Valley.

Jim is a very experienced member of the SOA team with a wealth of knowledge based on his previous experience as a building inspector/official, contract administrator, field reviewer, development technician and draftsperson for architecture firms and municipalities in Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley. Jim has worked on projects with a range of building and construction types, including concrete high rise residential, tilt-up warehouses and schools, wood framed residential, structural steel offices, a recreation centre, and several buildings in Vancouver’s Olympic Village.

When not at work, Jim loves woodworking and spending time outdoors camping, hiking, biking, skiing and snowshoeing. He played hockey for 20 years and is still a fan. Jim is most proud of raising three kids and having six grandkids.
