business development coordinator

The business development coordinator leads SOA’s marketing team. The coordinator will seek new opportunities, develop and execute winning strategies to grow SOA’s project portfolio. Building brand awareness, turning leads into clients and nurturing strong business relationships is key. A main focus will be to provide clear, innovative proposals to potential opportunities.

REPORTS TO: This position reports to the Business Development Director.


  • Coordinates the proposal team in the production of tailored architectural proposals. ensuring timely submissions. Interprets and addresses architectural requests for proposals and client needs and creates a response together with the graphic designer and technical writer. Coordinates consultant proposals and assembles fees as applicable.
  • Researches and investigates potential project opportunities and requests for proposals.
  • Coordinates and prepares presentation materials, utilizing InDesign, Prezi or other applicable software. Interviews project managers and as a team prepares project marketing materials for use in portfolios, social media and the web, architectural competitions, awards, speaking engagements and other promotions.
  • Coordinates, prepares content for and assists with project interview presentations.
  • Coordinates advertising, sponsorships, trade fairs and other promotional activities.
  • Regularly tracks proposal success rates and identifies areas for improvement.
  • Creates and organizes project marketing content for proposals, online and general marketing use to ensure current and easily accessible for team. Maintains client database.
  • Coordinates video renderings and drone footage for architectural projects.
  • Assists in implementing strategies for business development activities; measures results, regularly reports to business development director and adjusts activities accordingly.
  • Ensures that the SOA brand and values are clearly communicated in SOA templates and marketing materials.
  • Coordinates and attends trade shows, conferences and client meetings as required. Assists SOA team with business development training as required.
  • Participates in relevant continuing education opportunities.
  • Provides effective administration support, participates in building a positive team culture.
  • Models SOA core values to our team, clients and the public.

SOA SALARY RANGE: $55,000 – 80,000 /year


  • MBA or Bachelor Degree in Business, Marketing, or related field.
  • 5+ years’ business development experience, preferably in architecture, construction or engineering.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, CRM, Microsoft 365.


  • Extensive sales and marketing experience.
