 Your Opportunity:

Architectural interns and Coop students have opportunity to apply what is learned to practical situations. Join us to assist with design, produce quality drawings, visualizations and hands-on models. Your Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the production of design and construction documents.
  • Provide design direction; utilize 3D visualization to create innovative concepts.
  • Apply code and life safety aspects to architectural projects, meeting legal requirements.
  • Assist in preparing and submitting required documentation for permit applications and occupancy.
  • Effectively communicate your creative vision to clients; public hearings and open houses as applicable.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with consultants, clients, and user groups.
  • Travel to clients and project sites across BC as required.
  • Participate in relevant continuing education opportunities, completion of Co-op / Internship course requirements.
  • Contribute to SOA’s team culture and model our core values.

Your Capabilities:

  • Creative professional with an exceptional eye for design; able to align with SOA’s design sensibilities.
  • Passion to manage medium to large scale institutional and multi-family projects.
  • Prepare and assemble construction documents for permit application and tender, and prepare project specifications.
  • Knowledgeable with all construction types and applying the BC Building Code.
  • Team leadership skills who can direct, coach and inspire others.
  • Effective at building successful relationships with clients and consultants.
  • Fluent in Revit and applicable graphic presentation and visualization programs, Microsoft 365.
  • Excellent organizational skills; can prioritize, multi-task, and work independently.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to meet deadlines in a high-performance environment.
  • Excellent English written, verbal, and visual communication skills.
  • Lifelong learner.

Your Credentials:

  • Preference of completed 2nd year of Masters of Architecture courses from an accredited university program.
  • Bonus points: Completion of BC Part 3 Code course, Specifier 1 & Specifier 2 courses.

Let’s talk. This full-time position in-person in Chilliwack is available May – December, offers a competitive salary range of $23 to $28 per hour, 37.5 hour work week, paid overtime, Friday afternoons off in summer, team events and potential travel expenses reimbursed. SOA supports continuing education to keep us at the forefront.
