appropriately placed to provide amenities, services, and affordable housing
Spirit Creek Apartments in Squamish are located alongside a natural riparian area. It serves to support the community through affordable housing, Sea to Sky Community service connection, and a youth hub.
Directly adjacent is a District of Squamish community skate park and garden/playground. In addition to these amenities, an important component of this project is the youth hub operated by Foundry. It hosts spaces for medical and mental health, an amenity area, a movie room, a learning kitchen, and a basketball court. This project is also home to community gardens shared between the youth hub and the residents.
The housing component embraces the community using timber as a design feature throughout the built environment. Vibrant colours of the exterior are paired with durable brick, and wooden balconies connect residents with nature. Studio, 1 bedroom, and 2 bedroom units make up this Step Code 3 built project.
